Coventry Welsh produced a lack lustre display against a dogged Dudley Wasps side but still secured a valuable 2 points. In windy conditions the Welsh started brightly putting the visitors under pressure which resulted in Luke Horan kicking 2 penalties to take a 6 point lead. This spurred the Wasps and with the home side giving away too many penalties they eventually breeched the defence to score. The second half was an even contest but mistakes from both sides kept the score down. The Welsh upped their game and after some sustained pressure quick ball through several pairs of hands found second row forward Neil Kennedy lurking on the wing to crash over for a deserved try. Luke Horan converted a fine kick from the touchline to give the home side a two score lead which they never looked like losing as they played out the rest of the game
